SARK ACCOMMODATION AT ITS FINEST!

Clos De Vaul Creux is a wisteria clad, granite house offering elegant Sark accommodation and business facilities for discerning guests visiting Sark.

Owned by Leigh, this very special house is located centrally, close to Sark’s restaurants, shops, banks and the top of Harbour Hill.

Guest rooms accommodate up to 14 people in king, double, or twin en-suite rooms. Each room is individually designed to give a good night’s sleep in style. Egyptian cotton sheets, thick towels, tea and coffee facilities and TVs in all rooms. Plus a full lounge with a big log stove, TV/DVD and leather sofas.

Tranquil gardens offer food, wine and quiet escape under sun and stars. Whilst inside dining rooms offer candle lit log fire cosiness.

We are very close to the top of Harbour Hill, where the horse carriages depart. The sea can be seen beyond from some rooms. The roadway on the other boarder is gravel and a main road to all parts of the island. I have an off-road bike park to the side of my Business Centre.

The North Wing Business Centre is available separately for corporate events and business services for visitors to the island.

Leigh’s Place – I created Clos De Vaul Creux to be an informal but elegant boutique hotel, offering the ambience and facilities I would want to enjoy if I were traveling. The house is also my home.

 

A little about me:

My career began as a professional dancer having trained full-time from 9 years old in London and then Rome.
 
My first musical was Gigi in Berlin, but first to Bow Street Magistrates, getting approval ‘under licence’ for Tracey Ullman and I, as we were both under 18!
 
In my formative years to have experienced Rome and Berlin before I turned 20 and before the Berlin Wall fell I will forever be grateful.
 
Back in England I walked into the agency who cut our cheques for the last 6 months and asked “what next” never admitting they had turned me down from representation a mere 9 months before. Hotspur – grit, gut, determination came from my dear Daddy who was a Scot, an incredible person who at 19 became a code breaker at Bletchley Park and often air dropped behind enemy lines. Intelligence Corp sworn to secrecy. As a youth I was amazed he could pick up a language in 24 hours.
 
So Trendsetters, Second Generation and later my second musical as soloist in The King – the Elvis musical.
 
I was shorter than Ballet Rambert expected as I finished my training in Rome, determined to be ever better – seen – I became a strong jazz dancer of repute. I joined Blonde Feeling, a 3-girl dance group. Along with UK gigs we were honoured to be approached by Major Agutter (father of Jenny Agutter) to sign up with Combined Services Entertainment. We performed for the armed services in areas of conflict around the world for 3 years. My mother was amazingly strong when she knew a tour was imminent, she had grit too, ran away from home in rural Wales to London at 13 and later became the face of Lancôme in the 50s. Followed by many suitors but wooed by my father intently. They married in Jersey under Special license.
 
Hot Shoe Show and Apollo (which migrated to Bucks Fizz) followed, performing for royalty at the Berkeley Square Ball and attending gigs in our Rolls Royce!
 
I transitioned into a highly successful career in marketing with American Express in UK and Milan. I switched to agency life with Grey Integrated and other notable agencies and became a strategic creative marketing consultant working on multi-million pound initiatives.
 
After a car crash that meant reconstruction of my neck I came to Sark to rebuild and heal. I can attest to the energy of this rock and its healing properties first hand.
 
My parents’ ownership in hotel business in Brighton provided a solid foundation and familiarity for me to follow in their footsteps.
 
The journey from dance and marketing to hospitality has been my life, now also wellness coaching. With 27 years working in corporate and agency environments I can fully appreciate the pressures and stresses of executive life which is why my life story led me to be trained as a Heart Math coach. My gift to you now is to amalgamate this wonderful location and my personal experience and training to make this also a retreat that is so unique.
